Red Sox

Did I mention that last Thursday Jake's team won the championship game?

Came back from six runs down in the bottom of the last inning. The other team ran out of pitchers, literally. Two of their kids gave up a total of 7 runs in the end. It was brutal.

John sat the kids down at the bench for some final words, with the parents gathered round. His opening thought, "We got lucky today."

He followed that comment with, "We did not play our best game today. We made a lot of technical errors and that put us deep in a hole."

Holy cow, a grown up not kissing the kid's collective butt!

He finished strong, though, and pointed out that despite a six run deficit, the kids never stopped playing. They gave it their all until the last run, and they came out ahead. And of that he, and all of us parents, were very proud.

I took a team photo after the game, and my dad commented on how amazing it is that they are all looking at the camera. I think they were just in shock!
