Lesson Learned
Last night I pulled a super lazy move and tossed bag of garbage out back - planning to bring it round to the garbage can in the garage after dinner. Completely forgot about it until tonight, when I took more garbage down.
Walked around back, grabbed the bag, thought to myself, "wow, the animals didn't tear into it"
Got to the front of the house and thought I smelled skunk.
Walked into the foyer (garage was locked so I was going through the house) and realized I really smelled skunk.
Got into the garage and realized THE BAG WAS MOVING
Yes, kids, I carried a garbage bag with a skunk into my house.
Dropped the bag, ran back inside and had to figure out how to get the garage door open. It locks from the inside. We don't have the key.
So I had to go back into the garage - threw open the garage door (of course I had to essentially lean over the rustling bag to do it).
Now, I am praying that the skunk finds her way out of the bag and out of the garage and out of my yard tonight.
And tomorrow I have to figure out what to do with the garbage bag full of skunk juice.
Oy.

OH MY GOODNESS! That is CRAZY!
I hope the smell is contained in the bag.
Good Luck
Ack!!!
Lesson learned indeed!!!
At least you didn't get sprayed!!
Yikes. Kassie. And update please. I've been thinking of you. If you haven't thought of it already, your town Animal Control may be able to help.
I got sprayed by a skunk once. So not fun. Not fun at all.
Ok don't be offended but I am laughing. It isn't funny because you rock and I love you, but if it were someone else, it would be humorous.
Here's the update!
I dreamt about skunks all night.
Got up around 7, went out to the garage, triple bagges the garbage (after having determined that the skunk was no longer inside), put it in the garbage can and wheeled that around to the (windowless) side of the house.
Luckily, neither I nor anything in the garage were sprayed. It all stayed in the garbage bag.
That there was some powerful stink, let me tell ya!!
OMG!! I can't believe you came out of that unscathed....
Oh my goodness ... I am laughing so hard I am crying right now. Something about you dreaming about skunks... still laughing.
Hee, hee! At least, it could have been worse: a cousin of mine came home after a night of partying, and let in a black-and-white striped cat they didn't own. Their two dogs chased the "kitty" all over the house, my aunt had to replace all her rugs, couch, and everything. At least yours stayed contained.
I'm going to be the cheesy one here and say...
Oh my goodness that really STINKS!!
Ha!
HOLY CRAP what happened did the skunks get out? I would have freaked !
