Pump Pudge
The Purple Pump has given me some new freedom and flexibility around food. This is, of course, a good thing. It means I can eat breakfast again without fear of sky high numbers. It means I can eat pizza and not wake up at 300. Overall, my newfound Carb/Math skills (well, button pushing skills, really) have resulted in better numbers for a wider range of food.
Which, of course, means weight gain. Poundage, baby. A little extra pudge. Jeans are gettin' snug. Pounds lost between my December and March endo appointments have returned, and brought a few friends along for the ride.
Now, I know what to do about this, of course. But I'm chuckling at the fact that I didn't see this coming and try to avoid it.
I'm balancing my displeasure over a little weight gain with my happiness over blood glucose results. Now I just have to put the breaks on the carb party that has been my life for the past few weeks, as I've experimented with carb-to-insulin ratios and the carb wizard on my new Cozmo pump. We've established that it works, no more excuses! Would someone out there mind giving me a six a.m. wake up call so I can go for a walk tomorrow??

haha, it was fun while it lasted, right?
I have about 20 more pounds to lose before I reach my goal weight. Just ease up on the portion sizes.
And I can't give you a wake up call because I'm comatose at that time...sorry :)
Kassie --
I have lost 14 lbs in four weeks on my new health plan -- cutting carbs, upping protein, going to the gym 4 times a week, and drinking tons of water. I'm actually starting to not dread my gym time -- but then again, I exercise at 6 PM.
Good luck -- you'll do great, I'm sure. The advantage of the pump is that you can be exacting even when you're cutting back on the carbs -- avoiding those lows that can come with the cut backs.
Hey, I'll call you, if you'll call me....Of course I need a 5am wakeup call! For some reason, every night I go to bed with the best of intentions, alarm all set for 5:05am (5:00am is just obscene)and somehow, every night, that darn alarm just changes to 6am.
shoot. I was afraid someone would call my bluff ;)
I'm getting a purple cozmo in two weeks if all goes well. Hope the same thing doesn't happen to me!
Kassie,
Like Nicole, I've found that exercising at night works for me. I go to the gym anytime between 6 - 8 pm.
I tried the morning exercise routine. But I kept cursing every time the alarm went off. Cursing loud. And creatively. It wasn't good for my bloodpressure.
That morning I fell asleep at work wasn't too good, either. :)
Good luck!
