It's the Little Things that Slay Me
This afternoon, I received a flurry of emails from my book packager. Tucked away in one of them was the following gem:
"We had a request for clarification from the Library of Congress. Apparently, a Kathryn Gregorio directed a video in 2001. Not you I assume?"
The answer to that question is, of course, no. That Kathryn is a filmmaker in Brooklyn, and I've actually known about her for years, because I am just that vain, and periodically Google my name. You do that, too, right?
Ok, let's all just pause for a moment to take this all in. The Library of Congress. The LIBRARY OF CONGRESS.
Yes, it's just part of the process of publishing a book. There are numbers to be assigned, copyrights to be obtained, and other details that are beyond me. It's hard to even comprehend them because I can't get past the words, "THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS."
This is even cooler then the moment I realized that I would be working with the same book packagers who put together John Lithgow's LithgowPalooza books.
I know, I shouldn't shout. It's a library. I should whisper.
the library of congress.
hot damn!

I've Googled my name and turned up nada.
I'm impressed that your book will be in the Library of Congress. Hell, I'm impressed you're getting your book published.
I'll be one of your first customers.
I totally google my name. There are no other me's though. So only a sad little pathetic blurb comes up from my work website. Quite frankly, it's depressing.
BTW, the Library of Congress is totally impressive! Way to go!
Hey Kassie--I can relate on being excited about the LIbrary of Congress. I've dreamed for years of seeing my name on a book at Barnes and Nobel, and even told one ex-boyfriend as he was trying to get in touch with me after we'd ended things, "Buy my books when you see them in the bookstore, and goodbye."
And of course I've Googled my real name. My latest thing is Googling my blogger name and seeing what other Lyrechas are out there.
Congrats!
I totally google myself but Nothing much
You go girl! Kinda reminds me of my project I did for the White House. I still (4 yrs later) love to say I worked for the White House. I had faxes from the White House. hehe
Enjoy! I can't WAIT to read your book!
Love,
Theresa
