Not much, what's up with you?

It's been a very busy few weeks here at Casa de Palmer. Work has been consuming way too much time and we've had a run of family, school, and cub scout events that have kept us on the go. I appreciate Allison's comment checking in - it's nice to know folks are on the lookout.

I hate to resort to bullets, but in the spirit of catching up...

  • I'm gettin' paid to write! Two articles, one in a local publication and one in a national diabetes magazine, have been submitted and accepted. One more is in progress. How cool is that???
  • People are actually buying my book! Considering the fact that there are 35,000 copies available thanks to the Dream Fund, each little Amazon sales rank 'bump' gives me a little thrill. On a good day, my work ranks above The Crapper.
  • Peter Hoogenboom finished his nearly 10,000 mile bike ride last week. I persist in being amazed at his accomplishment and in awe of his wife (who travelled with him). I would *really* like to encourage OCers to consider applying to the Dream Fund next year. You guys are just the kind of creative, motivated, and interesting people the contest is seeking!
  • For my mom's birthday party last weekend, I got up early on Saturday morning and made 30 apple pie caramel apples (caramel, white chocolate, cinnamon sugar). They were GORGEOUS and yummy. I had one of those "I could do this as a business" moments after finishing the first apple. Long about apple #15, I realized just how much work was involved, and decided to stick with my current line of work. I also did a radio interview mid way through dipping the apples. I love talking about diabetes while working with caramel.
  • Rush Limbaugh sucks. In case you hadn't heard.

I'll be back soon with more substantive stuff.

Don't be ashamed of bullets, they can be very effective.

Glad to hear things are going well for you!

Rush Limbaugh does, indeed, suck. His suckitude knows no bounds. He's a black hole of suckage.

It's nice to see you back. Congrats on getting paid to write! That's my goal these days.
